The city of Prichard, Alabama, a family-oriented community located just three miles northwest of Mobile, has plenty of resources to help you with the wedding planning process.

Prichard is home to several churches, so if you're considering traditional wedding venues, make sure you check out St. James Major Roman Catholic Church, Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and Church of Life, just to name a few.

The city also has numerous parks, some of which have facilities you can rent through calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 251-452-7917.

Major parks in Prichard  include John Fagerstrom Park, Pollard Park, Renaissance Park, Passive Park, Highpoint Park, Jackson Reading, and Geneva Park.

Finally, keep in mind that Prichard has a variety of restaurants that cater, many of which are perfect for casual affairs in the park. Popular choices include AJ's Rib Shack, Church's Chicken, and Tree Barbeque.

Prichard is in close proximity to a number of museums and attractions, so make sure you save some time to enjoy the area. Some favorite attractions include the American Sport Art Museum, the Fort Conde Museum and Welcome Center, the Phoenix Fire Museum, and Shelton Beach.

You could also visit the unincorporated community of Eight Mile, which is home to High Pointe Golf Course and the 1,100-acre wildlife refuge, Chickasabogue Park.
