North Aurora, which was once known as Schneider's Mill, is part of the Chicago metropolitan area, so you have easy access to major attractions and shopping centers, but it still has some great resources of its own to help you with the wedding planning process.

Another local favorite, Harner's, has over 50 years of experience catering special events with old-fashioned comfort food made from scratch, and its bakery has a reputation for being the "best bakery" in the Fox Valley area.

North Aurora has its own public library district, but its public parks and open spaces are managed by the Fox Valley Park District, which has 163 parks, 22 miles of river shoreline, 24 lakes, 2,300 acres of open spaces, and 41 miles of multi-use trails you can enjoy during your free time.

Other nearby attractions managed by the Fox Valley Park District include Blackberry Farm in Aurora, Red Oak Nature Center, and Orchard Valley Golf Course.
