Ferndale is a city that is located in Oakland County, Michigan. Despite being primarily residential, there are various businesses and services which are geared towards making your wedding a success.

Ferndale has an active LGBT community, and even elected its first openly gay mayor in 2007. With a modest population of 19,000 people and covering an area of about 3.9 square miles, Ferndale is a pretty liberal place.

The city borders Hazel Park to the East, Oak Park to the West, Detroit to the South and Pleasant Ridge and Royal Oak to the North.

Notable people in Ferndale include but are not limited to the first openly gay mayor in Michigan, Craig Covey and former Michigan Governor, US Ambassador to Canada as well as US representative James Blanchard.
