South Lyon is a great city for a wedding. In addition to having unique resources to make the wedding planning process go smoothly, South Lyon has annual festivals, a historic downtown area, and beautiful parks. 

You and your wedding guests can hike the Huron Valley Rail Trail or picnic in McHattie Park, which has pavilions available to rent for special occasions. McHattie Park also features the Witch's Hat Depot Museum, the Victorian Gazebo, and the Freight House.

Make sure you plan outdoor wedding activities accordingly, as South Lyon is very cold in the winter, with an average low in January of 17 degrees Fahrenheit. 

The Moose Ridge Golf Course is another fun way to spend a day in South Lyon and is also an excellent wedding venue. The Oakland County Clerk's Office in Pontiac is the most convenient location for you to apply for your marriage license. Remember that the license has a three day waiting period before it becomes valid.
