The city of Freeport, which is located along the Gulf of Mexico in Texas, is a beautiful community with plenty of resources to help you with the wedding planning process.

Freeport has several city-owned facilities available as wedding venues, including RiverPlace, Freeport Community House, and Velasco Community House.

Also, if you're planning a casual bridal luncheon or rehearsal dinner, several of Freeport's parks have picnic shelters, including Lincoln Park, Municipal Park, Memorial Park, and Peppermint Park. Just keep in mind that it can be very hot and humid in the summer, with an average high in July of about 91 degrees Fahrenheit.

Since Freeport is along the Gulf Coast, there are also some excellent seafood restaurants such as Red Snapper Inn and BayTown Seafood, where you can host more elegant affairs.

Freeport is just 41 miles southwest of Galveston, so you have easy access to some of its major attractions such as Galveston Island State Park and Moody Gardens, but Freeport also has plenty of fun things for you to do during your free time.

To start, you can go fishing on Old Brazos River, relax or go camping on Bryan Beach, go golfing at Freeport Municipal Golf Course, tour Freeport Historical Museum, or rent a boat at Freeport's Municipal Marina.
