Sonoma County

Sonoma County, which is the largest producer of California's wine country region, is a popular place for destination weddings, as it is home to over 250 wineries and many beautiful parks.

Major cities in Sonoma County include the county seat of Santa Rosa, Cloverdale, Petaluma, Healdsburg, Rohnert Park, Sabastopol, Sonoma, Windsor, and the unincorporated communities of Bodega Bay and Camp Meeker.

Many of Sonoma County's wineries are available as wedding venues, and many of the smaller wineries are able to host intimate bridal showers and rehearsal dinners.

Popular wineries for weddings include Annadel Winery, Arista Winery in Healdsburg, B.R. Cohn Winery in Glen Ellen, Buena Vista Winery in Sonoma, Chalk Hill Estate Winery, Clos du Bois Winery in Geyserville, and Moonridge Vineyards, just to name a few.

The wineries, which are situated among the region's rolling hills, rivers, redwoods, and oaks, offer plenty of scenic locations for you to take one-of-a-kind engagement and wedding photographs.

Many of Sonoma County's parks also offer incredible locations for photographs. Major parks include Sonoma Coast State Beach, Bodega Bay, Tolay Lake Regional Park, Ragle Ranch Regional Park, and Hood Mountain Regional Park.

Sonoma County is home to several traditional shopping malls and centers, but many of its charming, small towns offer unique shopping opportunities at specialty shops, galleries, and antique stores.

Some popular shopping venues include the shops in historic downtown Petaluma, Pig Alley in Duncans Mills, Railroad Square and Courtyard Square in downtown Santa Rosa, the upscale boutiques in Montgomery Village, and Santa Rosa Plaza Mall.

Sonoma County is worth, at the very least, an extended wedding weekend, so you can fully enjoy everything that the area has to offer.

In addition to touring the wineries, you can explore its numerous gardens, such as Quarryhill Botanical Gardens, enjoy its thriving art culture, or relax in one of the county's 40 world-class spas.
