Tarrytown is a great place for destination weddings if you are interested in historical sites. Even though Tarrytown Village is small, there are plenty of resources to help you with the wedding planning process.

Tarrytown has several great wedding venues for you to choose from, including Castle on the Hudson, which is situated on the Hudson River and built in the medieval style. The castle features sprawling manicured lawns, luxurious accommodations for your out-of-town wedding guests, and world-class fine dining. 

You could also have your wedding at Tappan Hill Mansion, which is located on author Mark Twain's former estate. You can exchange vows on one of the terraces overlooking the Hudson River and then move to the Pavilion Room, which has large windows that offer beautiful views of the estate. 

Another elegant wedding venue with luxurious guest accommodations, world-class cuisine, and views of the Hudson River is Tarrytown House, which was once the private residence of Mary Duke Biddle of the Duke Tobacco family.

In your free time, you can go hiking, horseback riding, or cross country skiing at Rockefeller State Park Preserve, tour the Lyndhurst Castle, or see artwork at Canfin Gallery, which was voted by the readers of Westchester Magazine as the "Best Art Gallery in 2012."
