Romulus City is located in Wayne County and is the part of the Downriver community. 

The first white settler was French-Canadian Samuel Polyne, but he left in 1835 after the village was established. The next influential residents were the Pullen family, whose home became known as "Pullen's Corner". Today the corner is referred to as "Five Points". Romulus achieved city status and was incorporated in 1970.

Romulus was an important stop on the Underground railroad in the 1800's. Both the historic Samuel Kingsley Home and The White Church stops still stand.
