Dearborn is located in Wayne County. It is the eighth largest city in Michigan.

The area was originally home to the Huron and Iroquois Native American tribes. In 1786, the first European settlers arrived. The city was named after General Henry Dearborn and was established in 1836 under the name "Dearbornville". 

The city is the headquarters for the Ford Motor Company and is home to The Arab American National Museum, the University of Michigan, and The Henry Ford, one of the largest indoor-outdoor museums in the United States. Other businesses based in Dearborn include Carhatt, Eppinger, and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. 

Notable natives include Henry Ford, actor George Peppard, and chef David Burtka.
