Wayne City is located in Wayne County. It is home to Wayne Stamping & Assembly and the Michigan Assembly Plant, which are owned by Ford Motor Company. The city is 6 square miles.

The first white settlers arrived in the 1820's and named the community "Derby's Corners". It was renamed in 1836 after General Anthony Wayne. Growth was slow until the housing boom after World War II.

In your free time you can visit the Wayne Historical Museum, which maintains over 100 exhibits. The city also has a skate and bike park, a library, and an indoor ice rink.
