Lincoln Park City is located in Wayne County. It is part of the Downriver network of communities.

In the early years, native tribes fought for their right to the land by organizing an attack on Fort Detroit. The Potawatomi Native Americans eventually granted over 4,000 acres of land to Pierre St. Cosme in 1776.

Lincoln Park was established in 1921 and organized into a city by 1925. It developed as a bedroom community, with its residents commuting to Detroit to work in its automobile plants and steel mills.

Make sure to apply for your marriage license at least three days before your wedding. You can obtain it at the Wayne County Clerk's office in Detroit, or at either of the satellite offices located in Westland and Northville.
