Riverview City is located in Wayne County, about 12 miles southwest of Detroit. It was incorporated as a village in 1922, but grew rapidly and achieved city status in 1959. Riverview was originally part of the Monguagon Township. 

During the Cold War, Riverview was home to the Nike missile launch site, which sat on what is currently Young Patriot's Park. There is a Nike Hercules missile on display at the park. 

Notable natives and residents include Bachelor contestant Bob Guiney, musician Derek St. Holmes, former football coach Lloyd Carr, and the founder of Promise Keepers, Bill McCartney.

You can get married in the Wedding Chapel on the Green, located at Orlando Familia Banquet Center. Following the ceremony, you can move to the main hall, which features a grand staircase, marble dance floors, and elegant chandeliers. 

Arnaldo's Banquet Center is another excellent wedding venue which recently won "Detroit City Voter 2012 Best Venue". 

Riverview has 12 community parks with picnic areas, walking paths, and athletic fields. The city is also home to Riverview Highlands Golf Course, which features 27 holes and offers private or group lessons for a small fee.
