Known as "The Heart of the Bay" due to its central location, Hayward City is the perfect place to have your wedding. It is a pedestrian-friendly, green city, which was once a center for the canning industry.

It will be no problem to plan your out-of-town guests arrival to Hayward. The city has two BART stations, an Amtrack station, the Hayward Executive Airport, and easy access to airports in San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland.

Hayward is home to numerous parks and historical sites, including the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center, Sulphur Creek Nature Center, the Japanese Gardens, and Meek Estate, which was home to one of the first commercial farmers in Alameda County.

The Meek Estate Park can host wedding parties of up to 200, while the Japanese Gardens can hold no more than 50 guests, making it the perfect location for small, intimate ceremonies.

You can find different types of wedding cakes at Black and White Bakery, which can also provide your wedding reception with treats such as bread pudding, cinnamon twists, and chocolate croissants.

The city hosts weekly and annual events including book discussions in the library, downtown street parties, and summer movie nights.

Make sure you save some time to dine at local favorites such as Neumanali, a wine bar located in a restored Victorian home; or Bijou Restaurant and Bar, which specializes in organic French and California Cuisine.
