Newark is a city that is found in Alameda County, California. The city of Newark covers a total area of about 13.9 square miles and is surrounded by the city of Fremont.

This city was incorporated in 1955 and was originally home to the Ohlone Indians. It is also named after Newark Castle in Scotland.
