Hallandale Beach, which was originally home to the Seminole Native Americans, is located in Broward County. Several families of European descent permanently settled in the area at the end of the 19th century.

Hallandale Beach was incorporated under the name "Hallandale" on May 14, 1927. Twenty years later the community reincorporated in order to expand its borders to the Atlantic shore, and added "Beach" to the end of its name.

Hallandale Beach is a popular tourist destination with a sizable population of Canadian retirees.
