Pembroke Pines is a city that is located in Broward County, Florida. It covers a total area of about 34.4 square miles and borders Hollywood to the East, Everglades to the West, Miramar to the South as well as Davie to the North.

The area was originally inhabited by the American Indians. It was then an agricultural town which was known for its dairy farming. The city experienced growth in 1992 as a result of Hurricane Andrew which made people from Miami – Dade County to move to Pembroke Pines.

The city is named after its location on Pembroke road, and has several notable people currently living there such as record producer, radio personality and rapper DJ Khaled and baseball player Manny Ramirez.
