Fort Worth is a city that is located in Tarrant County, Texas. The city covers a total area of about 298.9 square miles. It is the 5^th populous city in Texas and 16^th in America.

The city was established in 1849 and was an outpost that overlooked the Trinity River. It was a sleepy outpost and slowly grew to a bustling trading town and a cattle center. It suffered as a result of the civil war, but the arrival of the Texas and Pacific Railway in 1876 helped Fort Worth to rebuild again. The city became a wheeling and dealing center in the 20^th century when oil began to gush in Texas.
