Arlington is a city that is located in Tarrant County, Texas. This city covers an area of about 99.7 square miles and is identified as the biggest city in  America that does not have a public transport system. Arlington borders the cities of Grand Prairie, Fort Worth, Kennedale as well as Mansfield.

Its history can be traced back to the 1840s, when the first European settlers are thought to have moved to the area. The city had very fertile soil which was good for farming. Agriculture was the mainstay of economy as many of the local businesses were agriculture based.

The city was incorporated in 1884 but industrialization of the city did not occur until 1954 when General Motors established a plant in the city.
