Haltom City, which was the first city in Tarrant County, is a suburb of Fort Worth. It was incorporated on July 5, 1949. The city was originally named Birdville. 

Haltom City has eight parks with amenities such as picnic spots, walking trails, playground equipment, an 18-hole disc ball course, and athletic fields. It is also home to a recreation center with fitness equipment and billiard and foosball tables. The parks are available to rent for small gatherings.
