Rowlett is a city in Dallas County, Texas.  It is considered a suburb of Dallas and has a population of approximately 57,000 residents.  Rowlett is 20.0 square miles in size and is located on Lake Ray Hubbard.

Rowlett Creek, which flows into Lake Ray Hubbard is the namesake for the city.  It is a major tributary of the Trinity River's east fork.  Rowlett was originally called Morris after its first Postmaster.  However, the town was later renamed Rowlett.  Rowlett was incorporated in 1952 and at that time the population was only 250 residents.  Rowlett has had a building boom since Lake Ray Hubbard was completed in 1971.  The population as grown steady from 1,600 in 1973 to the current population of 57,000 residents.

Rowlett averages 230 days per year of sunshine which makes it an excellent choice for couples planning destination weddings.  On average there are only 69 days per year of measurable rain per year which is also a plus when beginning your wedding planning.
