Duncanville is a city located in Dallas County, Texas with a population of approximately 38,500 residents. It is 11.3 square miles in size and is a suburb of Dallas.

People started settling in the area that is now Duncanville in 1845 when Crawford Trees purchased several thousand acres.  In 1882, the area's first postmaster, Charles P. Nance, renamed the city to Duncanville.  Duncanville's population increased from 113 to 300 between 1904 and 1933.  The city was finally incorporated on August 2, 1947

The  City of Duncanville has been designated as an official Main Street City by the Texas Historical Commission.
