Seagoville is a small city located in Dallas County, Texas and is a suburb of Dallas.  It has a growing population of almost 15,000 residents and has an area of 19 square miles.  

Seagoville was founded in 1876 as Seago.  To prevent confusion with another city in Texas with the name of "Sego," the Post Office changed the name in 1910 to Seagoville.

Seagoville is improving in economic development and quickly growing.  Of note is the fact that during World War II, Seagoville housed a United States Immigration and Naturalization detention camp.  This housed people of German, Japanese and Italian descent as they were classified as "enemy aliens."
