Yucaipa City

Yucaipa City, which was originally inhabited by the Serrano Native Americans, is located in San Bernardino County.

The Serrano tribe would often make trips to the nearby San Bernardino Mountains to gather food during harvest season. The city's name comes from the Serrano word, "Yucaipat", which means "green valley".

The Yucaipa Adobe is a California Historical Landmark and the oldest house in the county. It was built in 1842 by Diego Sepulveda, on land that was part of Rancho San Bernardino. The adobe and its surrounding land was later sold to Mormon settlers.
