Miami Shores Village is located in Miami-Dade County, only 6 miles from Miami.

The area was originally home to the Tequesta Native Americans. It is currently a diverse community consisting primarily of African Americans, Latinos, and Caucasians.

The city has a suburban feel, even though it's close to Miami. Most of the buildings in the city are built in Mediterranean-Revival style.
