Hialeah Gardens is located in Miami-Dade County, 10 miles from the Miami. It is 2.5 square miles. The area was originally used for the Walter C. Ohlerts Tourist Camp.

Hialeah Gardens was incorporated in December of 1948 by a unanimous vote of 26. It was a rural community that raised horses until 1968 when the city began a zoning master plan to encourage growth. Today the city is primarily residential and features four main park facilities.

The most convenient location to Hialeah Gardens is the Hialeah office branch, which also performs civil ceremonies. Marriage licenses become valid three days after the application is completed. If you want your license effective immediately, you can complete a four hour pre-marital course.
