Oceanside is a city located in San Diego County, California. This city has a total area of approximately 42.2 miles, and it is the third largest city in the county of San Diego. Together with the cities of Carlsbad and Vista, it forms a tri-city area.  

The area that is now Oceanside was first settled by Native Americans. The European explorers arrived in 1769 and they helped to introduce farming and grazing, which changed the landscape of what is now Oceanside. At one time, the land that Oceanside now occupies was under the Spanish and then in 1821 it was under Mexican control. The Americans conquered it in the year 1848.

With its over 160,000 residents, Oceanside is known for, and has gained a reputation as, a vacation home market. Houses located in residential areas such as South Oceanside, downtown as well as east of interstate 5 are said to have historical value.

Oceanside is home to MLB stars such as Thad Bosley, NFL stars such as Joe Salave’a as well as actors such as Denise Richards.
