Orange is a city located in Orange County, California. It covers an area of about 25.2 square miles and is about 3 miles to the North of Santa Ana. Orange city surrounds the small but affluent city of Villa Park. It is also the only city in the county of Orange to be planned and built around a plaza.

The city was incorporated in 1871, but rapid development came with the demand for California grown citrus fruits. This led to a growth spurt in the late 19^th century. Orange was initially dependent on agriculture, but the real estate boom that came with the development of a region-wide freeway system changed this.

Notable residents in Orange city include MLB player Mark Trumbo as well as comedian Brad Williams.
