Lincolnwood Village is located in Cook County. It is 2.5 square miles. The first inhabitants were the Potawatomi Native Americans, but they moved locations after the Indian Boundary Treaty of 1816. The land was an easily flooded prairie, which made farmers hesitant to move to Lincolnwood. The village began to grow after the North Shore Channel was completed.
