Palatine Village is a residential suburb of Chicago, located in Cook County. It is 13 square miles of primarily wooded marshland. The city was founded in 1866 around a station on the Chicago and North Western Railway. One of the first settlers was George Ela, who has a road that passes through the edge of the city named in his honor.
