Palos Park Village is located in Cook County. It is surrounded by the Cook County Forest Preserve and Palos Heights.
Early setters from the eastern United States and Ireland began to farm the flat areas of land in the 1830's. The hilly land was used for fuel and lumber.

Since Palos Park is thickly forested, it became a retreat for artists and performers who wanted a break from the city. The Cook County Forest Preserve started buying land from Palos Park in 1916 to help ensure the area remained a peaceful retreat. Today many of the residents from the village commute to Chicago.
We found resources to help you with your wedding planning, including wedding venues and caterers. You can have your ceremony and reception at The Center, which is an interfaith, non-profit organization that will work with you to create personalized wedding vows. You can choose to have your wedding in the chapel or garden. Keep in mind that the winters in Palos Park can be cold and snowy, so the garden is only open for ceremonies from May through October.
In your free time make sure to visit the McCord Gallery and Cultural Center, which features both well-known artists and local artwork. You can also take the train to downtown Chicago, which is only 15 miles from Palos Park.
